Pyramids at Dahshur
Dahshur Bent Pyramid
The first attempt to build a true pyramid but according to most theories, they believed that the angle of slope (54 degrees) was not practical to continue with and that is why the angle was changed (became 43 degrees) and the pyramid took its present form and is called the Bent Pyramid. it is about 104 m high built with limestone and cased with fine, smooth limestone blocks.
Dahshur Red Pyramid
That is the first true pyramid in Egypt to be built in history (about 2600 B.C.) by Snefru the same Pharaoh who built the Bent Pyramid, he was also the father of king Cheops who built the Great Pyramid in Giza. The Red Pyramid is about 105 m high with angle of slope about 43 degrees. It was called the Red Pyramid due to the reddish color of its outer casing blocks.
