Our Itinerary;
● A tour through the Coptic museum founded by Marcus Simaika in 1908. It is preferred to start with the museum to give an orientation and feel of Cairo. This museum is known to house some of the finest Egyptian art and has the largest collection of Egyptian Christian artifact in the world.
● Southwest to the Museum is the hanging church which is originally known as the St virgin Mary's Coptic Orthodox church, is one of the oldest churches in Egypt. This ancient church standing atop 2nd century ruins derived its name not from actually being suspended but it was built atop the gates of the old Roman Fortress.
● A tour through the Basilica Roman church of Cairo which is located deep underground in the old city. The church is relatively close to the Nile river, where we offer lunch at a good quality restaurant overlooking the Nile river.
● A walking tour of Coptic Cairo is incomplete without a visit to the crypt of the holy family. It is a place of utmost sanctity as it is believed to be the place where Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus were hidden in the cave to avoid the massacre ordered by Herod. The analysis of this spiritual place would be incomplete without mentioning the historical Saints Bacchus and Sergius Church built at top of the crypt and is the episcopal church of Cairo.
